  • In memoriam: Michel Cauberghs

  • December 2014

  •

  • We are very sad to inform you that ir. Michel Cauberghs passed away on  December 3, 2014.

Michel Cauberghs played an important role in the development of the clinical pathways in sleep medicine and home ventilation in the University Hospital of Louvain. He contributed to the realization of the new and current Sleep Lab in 2001. His colleagues in UZ Leuven will remember Michel as a fine colleague, who always could be found in his familiar place in his technical room, working in a calm manner. Always he was prepared to share his experience and knowledge.

Michel was more than a sleep technologist. He was also a talented teacher and instructor.

Dozens of colleagues, physicians and nurses, put their first steps in the analysis of polysomnographys under his expert supervision. In this way, he played an important role in the further development of sleep medicine in Belgium. And therefore, he was a welcome guest on yearly meetings of the BASS and the BSST, where he took an active part in debates.
